"What Now" Review
Overall Impression:
Blisteringly anthemic and performed with the utmost conviction, The Paul Waltz Bands' stadium-worthy hard-rocker "What Now" offers plenty in the way of crunchy riffs, engaging singalong choruses, bombastic rhythms, and exciting melody-driven lead guitar work, resulting in a well-rounded, and undeniably exciting piece of writing that captures the spirit of the genre brilliantly. The performances clearly demonstrate the high level of experience that's shared between each and every musician and as a direct result of this, the writing is injected with an infectious sense of energy that not only compels, but excites, and if a hard rock track can evoke such a reaction from its listener then it's very clearly doing something very right indeed.
Strongest Point(s):
Any self-respecting rocker of this magnitude needs a killer opening riff to effectively draw you in and "What Now" most definitely delivers on this, presenting a memorable opening guitar hook that is both deliciously crunchy and fittingly gritty. This is soon joined by a towering drum beat that bears both bombast and a level of intensity that helps propel the track forward in a manner that it both needs and deserves - factor in the bass and the way in which it perfectly strengthens the tracks rhythmic backbone and you end up with the perfect bed for the vocals to comfortably nestle themselves into. The soaring vocal performance is able to effortlessly match the intensity of the surrounding elements with ease, helping to inject the lyrics with a sense of purpose and immediacy that heightens their memorability tenfold. Combine this with the superb arrangement and its well-implemented variety as well as the track's pristine, yet personality-infused production and you have a sure-fire winner of a tune that many a rock enthusiast will be able to enjoy
Target Audience Appeal:
Lovers of classic hard-rock will undoubtedly have a great time with "What Now" and I can definitely see it strongly appealing to fans of the genre.
Artist target suggestions:
Black Country Communion, Voodoo Circle, Black Stone Cherry, Nickelback, Daughtry, Pearl Jam, Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, A Perfect Circle, Three Days Grace, Shinedown

"Sit Down" Review
Overall Impression
Hard-rock torch bearers The Paul Waltz Band return with yet another fist-pumping, foot-stomping, head-rocking slice of crunchy hard-rock that bears all the trademarks you'd hope to find in a juicy piece of songwriting of this ilk, and that'd be hard-hitting riffs, chest-rattling grooves, and charisma-lathered performances that capture the spirit of the genre effortlessly. No strangers when it comes to being able to write a rip-rolling and irrefutably catchy tune or two, The Paul Waltz Band always knows how to raise those pulses, and thanks to their always fully committed performances, anthemic choruses, and infectious sense of groove-instilled swagger, "Sit Down" delivers yet another generous helping of carefree, spirited rock'n'roll that you can easily imagine speeding along the highway to.
Strongest Point(s)
With each and every new track from Paul Waltz and his fellow rock brethren, I've come to expect the performances to be driven by a high level of both commitment and chemistry and once again, this is exactly what I got with "Sit Down". Akin to more of a live performance than a studio recording, "Sit Down" has a vibrancy and boisterousness to it that allows it to successfully and effortlessly embody what makes the rock genre so endearing to many. Between the tight yet not too-tight sense of groove, chunky riffs, and sing-along melodies, "Sit Down" ticks all the right boxes when it comes to a compelling rock track, and thanks to the simple yet highly effective arrangement, listeners are able to engage with the tracks many distinct ideas easily.
The rhythm section, a driving force that propels the track forward, is an unyielding juggernaut. The pounding drums and pulsating bass are the heartbeat of "Sit Down," creating a rhythmic foundation that is both relentless and hypnotic. The syncopated rhythms help add a layer of complexity to proceedings, giving the track an edgy and dynamic quality that keeps the listener on the edge of their seat. "Sit Down" also thrives on its dynamic shifts, moving seamlessly between moments of blistering intensity and brief respites that help effectively build anticipation. The ebb and flow of the track helps mirror the emotional turbulence of rebellion, creating a visceral experience that transcends the auditory realm and taps into the primal instincts of the listener.
Target Audience Appeal
"Sit Down" is definitely one for the hard-rockers and I'm sure they'll have a thoroughly enjoyable time with it.
Artist target suggestions

Some Fun Stuff:
In June 2026, Paul had the opportunity to experience the incredible Sphere in Las Vegas while attending Kenny Chesney's live performance. During the visit, he reunited with two longtime friends who have helped shape the live music industry.
Robert Scovill is an award-winning Front of House (FOH) concert sound engineer responsible for mixing Kenny Chesney's live performances, from massive stadium tours to his groundbreaking immersive residency at the Sphere. Renowned throughout the industry, Robert has earned a reputation for delivering world-class live sound for some of the biggest productions in music.
Paul also spent time with Marty Garcia, CEO of Future Sonics and a true pioneer in professional audio. Marty revolutionized live performance in 1982 by introducing the first custom in-ear monitors (CIEMs) on stage for Todd Rundgren. In 1985, he brought the first commercially available custom in-ear monitors to market, an achievement that led to his induction into the TEC Hall of Fame. His innovations forever changed the way musicians perform and hear themselves on stage, and Future Sonics continues to set the standard for professional in-ear monitoring around the world.
For Paul, the experience was more than seeing an incredible show, it was a chance to reconnect with two longtime friends whose innovations and expertise have left a lasting mark on the music industry.
